I know you're shaken up and this wasn't story time, but how about some deets.
Unprompted?
Red-light?
Looked in someones car?
Road rage?
Pedestrians saw your skin color and decided to "try" you?
Attempted car-jacking?
Had to drive past hoodlums and they had a problem with it so they aimed a gun at you as you drove by?
Random act of "micro-aggression"?
Can honestly say I have never had a gun pulled on me (if you polled the crowd they would probably say people are more worried about me pulling the gun on them. I had a state cop I went to highschool with refuse (i.e. smiled and laughed me off to a good friend behind my back) to help me with my CCW licensing a few years back because he said I was a "knucklehead" WHATEVER.
I have been attacked by 4,5,6 maybe 7 hoods who crashed a party (we had guns available but we're smart enough to not use firearms just because there is some heavy assault and battery going on that you're losing the odds on. Bloodied up pretty good but none of us want to be sitting next to the NAU shooter in court. If that cop knew about that incident he woulda helped with my license. Thats right GUESS WHO WAS WRONG BITCH. knucklehead my ass passed flying colors more of a test than 99.9% of the population would for the same.
I passed the "District Attorney" test.

Was about 1:20am and was driving across a bridge over the river by my house. Far up ahead a crossover SUV slows down and stops in the middle of the right lane. I try to get over but the left lane is full so I slow down and eventually stop behind him 10-15 yards. When the other lane clears I slowly pull around to reveal a saturnine fellow with a handgun standing next to the SUV strutting around like he's agitated. When I pull around he looks into my car, then points the gun at me and starts gesturing and waving the gun. I raised my hands to cover my head and slammed on the gas. When I got away I looked in my rearview mirror to see 4-5 cars shuffling behind him and him strutting around next to his vehicle.
Seems like he was just a crazy ass and honestly I wish I'd have called the cops on the off chance they show up in time to gun him down.

One of my old circles of friends (we all moved but stay in touch) were all insanely anti-gun after our friend got murdered and on our last reunion pretty much everyone was all in the closet nervous until someone brought it up, "the world's going to shit, i'm thinking about buying a gun" all 13 of us were on that tip and nobody wanted to say it.
I was so against these things i even pushed common sense gun laws like chambered round indicators on new guns in several states and was very politically active with it. , but like clockwork once a year I get threatened at gunpoint or shot at by people who are so cracked out there's no way to possibly avoid the situation. The last time I was pulled over in an alley behind my old apartment making a phone call (I was meeting a friend for dinner, who's a bit of a flake)
Felt like a safe place yknow? Used to literally be my backyard. Well a car comes blasting down the hill and almost hits me so i put my hand up like a stop-sign flash my brakes a couple times and pull into a parking space in the alley to let this colorful inner city invididual pass me.
Instead of driving by like a normal person slightly inconvenienced, he blocked me in the spot getting like 0.1" from smashing into the side of my classic car where insurance payoff is worth nothing compared to real value.
I back out to get the fuck out of there and he blocks me again, hitting my bumper (luckily, 5mph push bumpers, does zero damage) then the fucker whips around alongside me.. I slam into reverse fucking my synchros up HARD to move just enough to avoid getting hit. Pulls a gun on me and starts threatening me.
Managed to be really fucking calm and talk my way out of it. Turns out he was very high on crack and thought I flipped him off. But his girl wasn't high and seemed to be pretty afraid of me (at this point I was reaching around pretending I had a gun, I didn't)
I got lucky but fuck if I would have let some trash human murder me in the back of an alley for no reason. Can only get lucky so many times you feel. I've been drawn on and shot at MANY times but this time I truly felt helpless because of how close range it would have been. Concealed carry and 360* cameras in my car and a microphone under the trunk is one of the next things I'm working on.
literally can't avoid these situations. half the times i've been shot at were from people like this pulling up on my car parked and threatening me because they were on drugs and road raging at anything they saw. well i can -- i'm moving the fuck out of the city to somewhere rural with enough property where i won't see anyone. homeless crackheads took over seattle big time, it's rapidly becoming a shithole despite all the lies the media will tell you. they had to take dumpsters out of 2 of the biggest neighborhoods and replace them with giant clear bags because so many people were dumping murdered homeless in the dumpsters.

I'm not really anti-gun but it wouldn't have done me any good in this situation, by the time I got a view of the scene I already had a gun pointed at me. But I feel like that describes 80% of firearm situations including yours. I do want to get one for my house.
I'm stuck here for 3 years, but after that I'm getting the fuck out. Assuming I don't get killed in a random act of thug violence.
