Loot and Scoot was a widely observed community rule on Tallon for group and lower PvP, depending on the situation it could be GM enforced way before corpse rotting(hours not days). For raid PvP it was more of you can have your corpse back once the raid is over, often with the winning guild assisting with the recovery of the losers.

I played on Vallon and I don't remember any LootnScoot. However I probably missed it. They might have changed the rules at other times too. Given the rules state you can't corpse camp if it causes decay, this implies GM's would intercede in special circumstances. It follows that not everybody can play 24/7 or has the same situation. Also later on they added the corpse zone--I forget when. Allowing corpse camping would make more sense if there's an alternative for the victim to get their corpse within reasonable constraints.
I went to Sullon Zek to get away from the Bureaucracy of Play Nice. Back then, the big thing were trains and bind camping and whatnot. Personally, I liked living with those things. Does that mean I wanted to grief? No. I hated greifing, just like anybody else. I got bind camped once. What'd I do? I quit and I played an alt until they left. I lost some experience, sure. Did I ever hear horror stories of people who lost several levels? Yes. However, open world is open world. Too many rules are incompatible IMHO.
Can anyone name any subtle rules or thigns not explicitly mentioned here:
