How does it contribute negatively to EQ ? I mean other then I guess it being deemed "unfair" for porting yourself and stuff like people said. Is there any technical aspects that cause the game to lag or bug or whatever ?

The idea is people become less social (grouping) if they can just group with themselves - among other more unsavory scenarios
