Our country is built on the idea that we have the right to rebel against tyrannical government. We had to do it once before and it would be the height of hypocrisy to say future American's shouldn't have that ability and freedom.
The founding fathers came from the french enlightenment type thinking. They put the 2nd amendment in because the nature of the beast that is government is to support and make government bigger, not necessarily serve the people.
The public having guns is a check and balance on the government. Without it the government steam rolls the public.
And that should be very scary considering what is happening in western europe where natural populations are being replaced and they don't have free speech laws.
Good example- during WW2 nazi's were able to go door to door, round up Jews and walk them right into death camps. They were able to do this because Germany was disarmed. You better believe things would of went differently if they had guns.
If you're an American and you hate guns you should think about moving to a new country because our identity on a very base level is built through the right to own guns.
