That doesn't surprise me, its pretty rough soloing on a rogue. Doing it with no twinking or grouping at all even more so, since lack of grouping will make it incredibly hard to get the gear that makes you even mediocre at it.
I'm not really sure what the weapon progression would even look like, really. Probably an Iksar Berserker Club for sure, but everything I got other than that better than a dragoon dirk I needed a group for.
Could maybe do NPC fights somewhere? If you can get strong enough to farm permafrost for plat and root nets, might be able to train giants into dwarves in GD and finish them off after they win or something like that. I usually needed to have some way of rooting them though, either with poison or nets to get the giant off me and onto the dwarves.
