You could solo a few levels outside of your hometown while training up important skills and getting the spells you needs etc. Id suggest leaving the cribsnest around lvl 5. You could stay in Faydwer and head for Crushbone, thats not too shabby. People gather there.
If you wanna go to Freeport I recommend running to Butcherblock Mountains and ride the boat since youre fresh meat
