I should add that just because the wiki says "needs max ally" it does not
necessarily mean you in fact need max ally. Most likely it just means whoever wrote that was at max ally, and had heard of people failing with lower faction, so they guessed that max ally was required.
But if you look (I think it was in the Priest forum) I'm pretty sure there was a thread where someone claimed that they did one of the "max ally" steps of the epic without max ally faction. So if you want to risk all of your epic progress for the good of the wiki, try doing "max ally required" turn-ins without max ally faction, and then edit the wiki afterwards based on whether or not it worked.
