To get back to the thread:
Paying 10k for the delivered item seems reasonable to settle the situation. Both can then agree on another earring for another 10k or just go their ways.

Only if the seller actually would deliver a second earring for another 10k.
I'm not convinced that will happen as the seller has discovered other people will pay double or triple that.
I suggest a better arbitration would be 5k goodwill payment now with the remaining 15k paid on reception of the second ring.
Both parties also owe 1k to the Norrathian Arbitration Committee for peacefully resolving the matter.
