Probably a very stupid question but this would be the first time I'd play OG EQ (EQ2 was my first MMO ever in early 2005 and i played that till 2008). Since Iksar are apparently so evil they have their own city and are KoS in every other one, does that limit who you can group and trade with?

Well first thing to remember is iksar is not playable until the first expansion, about 1 year into EQ but, to answer your question it does limit what types of NPC's you can interact with, but has no affect on player interaction

As far as NPC's every class/race for the most part has npcs they cant interact with so its not a big deal, but iksars are pretty much hated by all non iksar races so factioning can be a problem. But on p99 you don't need to worry about that too much just because the community will help you do everything!
