Probably true. A four-year Green cycle sounds like a good amount of time, IMO.
Year 1 - Classic
Year 2 - Kunark
Year 3 - Velious
Year 4 - Final year
Year 4 ends - Reset/Rollover/New Green server starts
A solid year in classic and Kunark is enough time to fully appreciate the content in each before moving on. Then two years in Velious allows enough time to bring the server to full maturity and to just start feeling stale enough to get people excited for a fresh Green restart.
All that being said, I will not quibble with the staff's decision to approximate the classic timeline, especially on the first go-around with Green. I'm sure they might consider modest changes to the timeline for future Greens based on how the first one goes.
