Blues always super excited over PVP events and Best of the Best tournaments, yet blues refuse to play on PVP servers. Someone explain this.

This may seem like the case but maybe a whole quarter or more of those present had some experience playing on Red99 and other PVP games? It was a solid turnout but it's not like the entire sever came for PVP fun!
