At my expertise level i can only say there's no reason it shouldn't work, so if it works, I believe it ^^ it slows/halts the viral RNA (dna equivalent) printing protein which is responsible for full replication of the viron's genome. I'm not sure where that fits into its life cycle but it may be enough to disrupt viral life cycle sufficiently that human immune response cleans up ez.
