I can get beyond the optics dude, I checked the coroner's report and it's plausible he died of a fentanyl OD even tho not conclusive. But fent OD doesn't explain why he was wildin out. Opiates don't make you wild out and flap your arms. He didn't panic because of opiates. It's not marijuana or LSD, no anxiety potential, you don't have a paradoxical response to opiates. And it's not an 80s movie where you pop a pill and then jump off a roof cause you believe you're invincible. Or see cartoon elephants. The fentanyl thing is a nonsequitur. Whether the guy died of the knee on the neck or not literally doesn't matter.
Fact is, he had a knee on his neck long enough to kill him. So the cop did wrong. It's your bad luck if you drive your car thru a crowd in Charlottesville and a bowled-over whale gets a heart attack and dies; that makes you a terrorist. Get your knee off his neck if you don't want credit for the perhaps incidental death.

He died long afterward at the hospital, he did not die from the knee. If you've ever seen an MMA match, people go unconscious within about 5 seconds of a choke hold. He was on the ground with the knee for 7 minutes, and slowly faded into unconsciousness, which is *completely* consistent with either a heart attack or a drug overdose. He also had methamphetamine in his system, it wasn't just fentanyl, so yeah he may have been having a paranoid psychotic break. And I already said the knee was over the top anyway.
That's all beside the point though; the point is that the way his death was portrayed in the media, the way the cops involved were treated, the way people rioted for *6 months* over this random guy dying because *he* made a series of terrible choices over many years, is completely batshit crazy. There were like 5 year old kids wearing T-Shirts with his face on them; a guy who robbed a pregnant woman at gunpoint. He had a fucking 4 day long funeral with a gold casket. Meanwhile when a good cop with a family gets blasted in the face during a routine traffic stop, nobody gives a shit. No fanfare, no mass media coverage, no riots, no protests. It's pure theater. So much emotional manipulation over a tragic, but completely unremarkable event that just happened to go viral on social media.
