Why is there a semiconductor shortage? There's a pandemic going on, one big plant in Japan had a fire, stuff made by certain manufacturers has been banned due to security concerns, orders decreased substantially as some nations went into lockdown and the economy stagnated and now as that lifts everyone wants them again, and production capacity is reduced due to the aforementioned reasons.
