Indifferent is a large range. Amiable is a relatively short range.
Also, just because a mob gives faction hits for both doesn't mean the faction hits are equal (could be getting +3 trooper faction per kill but only +1 brood).
You should keep a counter or run a parse so you can report an accurate number. I find 1000 kinda difficult to believe. I bet it was more in the 300 range.
