Sotm can be found for like 3k(if you're lucky)-5k, and it's such an awesome weapon i'd highly recommend it. Baton of Faith is very cheap and very effective 20+.

Up to 20, I'd recommend using a Nathsar greatsword because of the damage cap.

Tattered mantle is also a good alternative to crested spaulders since Sta has less of an effect at a lower level, and has an additional AC point and disease resist.
