Green technology would be great to have widespread, but there are drastic downsides that activists really don't like to acknowledge, and they need to grapple with them if they want to actually make meaningful changes.

Fair point. Biomimicry seems better in many ways since it improves or adds onto the infrastructure already in place, minimizing the chance for those downsides to occur; whereas, with green tech, wind turbines alone have had a significant impact on bird and bat populations, the only solution so far being their placement and speed, neither of which have worked reliably well.
