Living is objectively better than dying. At least you get to be alive, even if you sometimes have to suffer.
Not existing (before you were born or after you're dead) is pure unwavering gray. Not good, but also not bad.
Living affords you the possibility of very high highs.
It's a lot like modern MMO's vs. Everquest:
Modern MMO's are endless gray, Everquest is high highs and low lows. The latter is far more stimulating to the mind.
