Hey, btw, how did the countries most "illegal" border crossers generally come from get to be the way that they are? What drives people to risk crossing "illegally" in the first place, rolling the dice on getting their families separated, or killed?

See, unlike you, I don't think of Mexico and South America as shithole places. There are lots of great, prosperous, productive, safe places to work and live there. Millions and millions of people, doing just fine, watching telenovelas and whatever. Most (illegal) migrants are just poor and have fucked up lives and are entwined somehow with cartels. And that sucks, but lax\nonexistent border security in the US is not a solution to their problems.
