Apologizing in pitchfork mob culture really only hurts you. It hurts you more if you are conservative, but it still hurts you (or doesn’t help you) as a progressive
Look at the dumb thing with Whoopi on the view. She’s just dumb, she’s not anti-Semitic, and she thought that because Jews look white that the Holocaust wasn’t about race. Both Dems and Repubs went nuts on her. I heard about it, sitting back baffled wondering why this is such a goddamn big deal to people, how bored are people that they have to strain so hard to find something to get offended about? Once again, she’s just dumb and wasn’t taught that Hitler described Jews as a non-white race. She was corrected, now she knows, who cares?
Anyway, she apologized publicly through the anti-defamation league. Groveled before the pitchfork mob. Didn’t matter, her show still suspended her and now she says she’s thinking of quitting. She learned the hard way that apologizing to the pitchfork mob doesn’t help you, and may actually hurt you, sort of like a putting blood in the water for more sharks scenario
