Except sometimes the high traffic crossings get congested and fresh product dies at the border that is a crisis.
Well I live in a border state, a friend of mine stumbled onto a cartel pot growing operation with cameras up while on a hike, was followed out of the woods by a Jeep and her friend’s car had a bullethole in the back they noticed a few days later

Food banks here that I frequent for work are full of undocumented people and they don’t check citizenship, shelter beds same, any social service basically doesn’t check citizenship and they all have limited supply, all of which could have gone to a citizen but didn’t. My job has limited staff and we are tied up helping undocumented people about 10% of the time (or higher depending on the area). Taking up ER beds at hospitals etc

So yeah, it has an impact. And not even talking about potential low skill jobs they are taking from citizens. If no citizen wants to scrub toilets, that shop owner will eventually have to pay enough to entice a citizen to want to do it (aka a fairer wage), but not when an illegal will do it pennies per hour cash under the table
