It's so strange that being "cheap" is considered an insult. I look at people IRL that spend beyond their means on things like cars, takeout food, high end phones, and I can't help feel pity. And yes, we're talking about a game here, but the same general principle applies.
If me tipping the minimum acceptable amount for ports makes me cheap in your eyes, then so be it. I don't really respect people that make poor financial decisions, and it's hard to feel insulted by someone you don't respect.

I'm with you buddy. Tip culture is cancer. Shit, even places like Panera bread have tip lines on the receipts now. So I'm expected to tip cause you punched my order into a register? "They are providing you a service!" - I hate that argument. Almost EVERYONE is providing a service, yet society doesn't tip them. People don't tip their dentists, their nurses, electricians, Amazon delivery drivers. Just select industries like food? LOL. Fuck'em.
