Ok at this point I want to know how there is anyone left in chicago, what do they bus people in?

I mean these numbers have been steady for decades.
I spent a few years living in Chicago. It is easily the most segregated city I've ever lived in. Living on the North side is a completely different experience than being on the South or West side. The poverty and violence in those communities is staggering and people's families have been entrenched in it for generations.

The Midwest as a whole is a depressing and dying region. Chicago is one of the few vibrant feeling locations remaining. It's sort of the crown jewel of Big 10 Country so it will always have people relocating there. It;s also relatively affordable as big cities go, and one of the few you can live in without a car, so it's attractive to young people.
