They shouldn’t be subsidized. Other than that, who cares? If people want a car that doesn’t work in cold or go more than 200 miles, be my guest. Like I said, it depends on the grid whether they are good. In a place like Iceland, where electricity is geothermal, there is no doubt they’d be better for the environment. In places where they burn coal, I believe there are studies indicating they are not as good for the environment as many believe
That said, I haven’t extensively researched them. I didn’t like my Tesla and I think until someone figures out a graphene battery, they will face real world challenges due to range and weather
