honestly, they can charge cheaper rates because they expect less from their employees.

our friends, not us thankfully, have had issues with jiffy lube and wal-mart and quality of service. one friend had them not fully tighten the oil filter, and it flew off down the street a ways. another friend took his vw tdi (diesel) to jiffy lube, wrong oil and they couldn't find the filter for it so the put the old one back in.

imho if you care about your car, do it yourself or pay a friend with alcohol who enjoys working on cars to do it.
