That's because the media knows the truth. They're backed by science and all of these other people that are highly educated and obviously smarter than the rest of us. Since they've already done the thinking for us it's totally stupid to "think critically" because you're clearly just wasting your time.
And if you do decide to "think critically" really all that means is you're trying to do your own research and that's dumb because other people are educated and are doctors and scientists and they've already done this for us and gave us the facts.
