This works the same way on blue/green, your bows damage bonus uses your main hand damage bonus. This is as classic as EQ unless you can show some proof?

I don't think there is evidence that high delay main hand weapons impacted the damage bonus the is applied to archery on LIVE, as it was clearly not the intent of the damage bonus.
But I could be stupid.
