Whenever someone is going to communicate something important, their NUMBER 1 priority should be to consider “what way of communicating this is most likely to have a positive result”
In considering the way, we need only to look to the 5 W’s: What, to Who, Where, When, and Why
Within what you can also modify a method. Sometimes verbal communication of a particular subject to a particular person at a particular time can have less chance of a positive result than written communication
A good rule of thumb and one that protects everyone equally, including a trans person considering how to reveal it to an unknowing partner
