That wasn't the nature of my criticism. I don't have kids. I want to know why we think the state needs to be involved in "preventing" this sort of "harm", while we ignore other things that are legal for parents to do that cause more harm.
Why this one specific issue? It's incredibly unlikely, and sets a terrible precedent that a just supreme court would invalidate, if we had one.
