The sermon at church today was kinda special. The senior pastor’s dad had just passed away (was expected) 3 days ago. And the pastor was re-telling a memory where when he was around 8 yrs old it was a big snow day (and I guess snow is like white powder feathers or something I don’t get it where I live). And he was excited because he thought with all this snow there’s no way they’d have to go to church

But that his dad apparently was a never miss type of person so he chained those tires and they went to basically a nearly empty church with one other family. So he said he and his similar aged brother snuck away to a closed section to play pretend that he was the pastor on a pulpit and the brother was fake playing the organ

And then the pastor got choked up, and it was the only time I’ve ever seen him like that, and he said doing a make believe pretend pastor for the first time age 8 he heard a voice that said “this is what you are going to do”

I was moved. But I told my dad after my first thought was I used to make believe pretend I was mega man with my friends. Had I heard a voice saying “this is what you are going to do someday” and I would have thought “ah crap, so I’m going to be crazy?”
