it varies by community, but some of them have water tanks with septic systems, or they have wind/solar powered pumps.
their whole thing is the separation from the outside world, so they don't have wires or pipes coming from the heathenous cities
my house has a bathroom with an old fashioned sink that has separate taps for hot/cold water... that's pretty close right?
