I remember my encounter with super Metroid I had no idea what the game was. My parents had a regular dinner at a family friend’s house and every time I would play one of their young adult son’s snes
I jumped right in on one of his super Metroid saves and got my ass kicked and wandered around lost for a long time because I had never played Metroid before and had no idea what I was doing. I eventually got the hang of it and loved it and beat the game
But he was pissed when he got home from college in the summer and I was like “oh hey man, what’s up. I beat your Metroid game for you, it’s now saved at the end”
