I played CS: Source a lot when I was young, $2000$ and ak47_aim or deagle_aim maps, or just gungame and stuff like that, even zombie survival (zombie escape is boring). And I had a hell lot more fun than in cs:go and cs2. The guns just feel better, the animation for quickswitch with AWP and you know where your bullets go spraying AK-47...
I still don't know how to spray with AK-47 in CS2 and that's why I burst or single shot there. I stopped playing CS2 for good. You have to be glued to the screen and my eyes hurt from the bright lights of the map. CS: Source felt darker and more pleasant to my eyes.
I played CS1.6 only in school in programming lessons cause they were too complicated and boring and I didn't wanna learn programming. Someone of other class brought a USB stick with self extracting CS1.6.exe or .bat
I think you can download 1.6 self extracting exe from internet for free. It would be like 20 Megabytes or something. It's like a .rar but it's an .exe and everytime you start it the game loads and you can play 1.6 LAN so we were like 6 people playing that ice map and they all sucked cause they didn't play enough Source. I love that I can switch to 1.6 if I wanted and still be good since the aim is the same as Source...
I must play some CS: Source again. Maybe I'm missing out. And maybe try 1.6 or is that a waste of time if Source is better anyway? I dislike buying bullets in 1.6 and the shield is also pretty lame...

I dont think the shield is in 1.6. It was implemented in condition zero, which came after 1.6.
It's also been decades sine I've really played cs so I could be wrong.
