The MH/OH myth is just a funny one because you can test it with a level 1 monk and a Fire Beetle eye. Some people would rather argue on Discord than log in and know for certain.

As an aside, my presumption is that Naethyn meant maxed skill, str, level. A Meljeldin at 60 hits for a max of 275; with Avatar you just do a lot more hits on the upper end of the spectrum.
Yeah as I said in my previous post, you won't get a larger maximum hit via ATK (or STR) if you are already damage capped. But if you aren't damage capped, then ATK will increase your maximum hit.

As for MH/OH, that is something you can miss, because many people on P99 do not naturally put fire beetle eyes in their offhands. These days a lot of players start with haste items and low delay weapons on both hands. That is why I didn't catch the independent offhand timer initially. I had to go out of my way to get a specific item to test it. I used a 60 delay 2h weapon on my Monk unhasted and checked how many times I could fistweave between mainhand swings. Most P99 players aren't using high delay weapons unhasted on Monks, or non weapon items.

It can be easy to miss max hit increases too. The chances of getting a max hit when you aren't damage capped is quite low, so it can be tough to test. Corudoth is a good test target for max hits. Also if you have been BiS for years with a Primal, you can probably forget what it's like to not be at the damage cap.
