Honestly, if you look at how many people there are on earth, the American experiment has worked.
Its resulted in the greatest boom in human evolution, ever.
The only people that can say it hasn't worked, are people who seek some sort of divine purity.
(The devout classic religions, and whatever the the new age religion that makes up people hate America and other religions today.)
In terms of practicality and secular pragmaticism,
this has worked, and works best so far.
