The fact that Verant chose (very deliberately)
not to do this has always boggled my mind. I can only conclude that Mages were so hated by the general population (after kicking ass in classic) that they purposely "punished them" with a nearly impossible epic in the next expansion.
I just don't understand why else they would have done it, as it defies all game design logic. But whatever the reason, it seems even more pointless here on P99 than it did in classic.
