Mage will level to 50 quicker. Think I did whatever till 18, EK spiders till 24, Highkeep guards/goblins till 41, then can do like oggok/freeport guards to 50. Lots of other options of course, I just chose these because I was lazy.
Make sure you do at least 1 point of damage to whatever you are fighting, let the pet(fire) do the rest. Get the Torch of Alna asap, should have enough cash from killing guards to just buy the items relatively early on.
