I enjoyed your post necro. Always cool to see new perspectives on the classic experience. I also enjoy the class separation with regards to skills, more natural feeling world, and the mastering the simple basics that classic EQ had to offer.

P.S. As for a "compass" working like it would in real life, drop a rusty weapon (or any weapon) on the ground, and the blade will always point north. Good luck!
