Well, the problem is that they would have the exact same effect as the current channels do -- might as well leave them up and not waste the development effort on getting them to work properly. Also, its vague, but i seem to remember server instability related to chat channels.
More importantly, how is the server rebuild in the new datacenter coming? We still on track for friday, or maybe even a little earlier?
