Troll would give you better tanky stats, and better armor options... but if there's one quote that resonates on these forums its "play what you enjoy" - I like lizards, just a shame that 9/10 of them are monks/necros here

EDIT: Ogre is similar, with a slight reduction in their racial penalty, if you go there, be sure to put 5 points in AGI on creation
