I created my own work-out that I've been doing. P90x will do for a cardio type of workout (every other day or so) but if you want to gain muscle you need to lift heavy. I recommend the 5 x 5 rule, lift 70-80% of your max for 5 sets of 5 reps. Example: Bench press 5 sets of 5 reps. You want to aim to where you can barely get the 5 in. This applies to heavy lifting exercises such as bench, squat, deadlift. For arms you can tone it down a bit as you won't see as much of a gain in arms at 5 x 5 plus it would be unrealistic to curl that much weight!
I used to be more shredded when I was 175 lbs but I've built more muscle since. My arms have increased an average of slightly over one full inch in the last three years! Right now I'm curling 5 sets of 25 at 80 lbs per arm (preacher curls).
