Between now and Velious many people who play will step away, and new players who are curious will come check it out. I expect pop to steady out between 60-80 on any given night.

The server will not be wiped or trolled into being shut down. P1999 Blue was like this when it first started, it's not the server peeps, it's classic. Classic is boring and for a crowd of hardcore players that know how to maximize their characters quickly, other than starting multiple alts, there is nothing to do but to eventually quit.

Unless another incarnation of VZTZ pops up, eventually the large crowd of people who quit will come back and play Velious when it's released. Until then, expect the population to stay as is or continue to dwindle as people try out Diablo 3, GW2, and all the other new games that come out. Classic EQ cannot stand on it's own, regardless of the ruleset, it's boring.

Here buddy you can come back and grab these nuggets once your giant group of hand holding friends finish farming kunark on a low pop server that releases content before fixing interest issues. Hopefully you'll realize content isn't what breeds interest in PVP players. Maybe try fighting someone, you might enjoy it.
