1. Get old lamp wiring. The two prong kind, you only need positive and negative connections, they'll be shielded cables with a nice big gauge. Lower the guage, worse the cables are and the worse your system will sound.

7. Capacitors are built into the circuits already of the amp. What were you planning on doing, building a small box with a capacitor circuit inside?
9. Why would you want the crossover circuit to be visible? Are you planning on adjusting it per song? You would want to set and forget a crossover circuit, I'd tune them first and then conceal them. With subwoofers it's not like you're going to be interested in hearing much bass from your mid and tweets, so just set it to a nice crossover Freq, maybe around 2-300 Hz, it all depends on what your speakers' frequency response looks like.
