I didn't read the URL you posted, but commenting on your statement above. The "server" will only know your router's IP. (External IP). The IP that is assigned to you by your ISP. (keeping it simple).

you need to read the url, or about "bridged mode" in general.
what you are describing is non-bridged mode. (which 99% of people use)
much better than screwing around with wifi or proxies.
all you need is an isp that takes multiple logons.
