I think he's allowed that possibility. By asking for an exact time-stamp, it means he'll look exactly where the logs should be. If it turns out that logs are indeed missing, I suspect that'll open up a much much deeper investigation.
Also, the logs register KS's based upon FTE. If I only did 1 point of damage and someone does the rest, I still am credited as the owner in the logs if I had FTE.
