Those people are out there. A girl in my office has now given her information out twice to scammers. Once for a 'rental pre-screening' over Craigslist and the other time over the phone to someone that claimed she took out a payday loan like 5 years ago and wouldn't tell her for how much or any other information. But she gave them her bank account and routing number because they knew her address. I found out about it when she approached me because they were calling our office making threats for the money after she realized she fucked up and they recorded her acknowledging that she would pay the debt. Unsurprisingly, she just filed for Chapter 7...
