Pretty slick, Tokage...but that the citizens of this country don't have the collective will, nor will they ever have to fight a direct confrontation against their own government aren't logical fallacies, they're fact.
Individual gun rights equaling a defense against tyranny in the US is itself a logical fallacy.
The internet and free communication are much more powerful tools against tyranny in this technological age, and that's been proven.
If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.

I agree with that. If the government comes knockin on your door, what are you going to do? You think you stand a chance with your semi automatics against tanks and armored vehicles? If the government wanted to wipe out an area, they would just do it. You wouldn't see it coming.
The second amendment was written at a time where everyone could easily have the same level of technology because nothing complex existed. The second amendment never kept up with the times, so its irrelevant as a measure of keeping the government in check. Not only can the average citizen not afford tanks or anti-aircraft weapons, they don't allow you to have them. Its fine to use firearms for hunting, sport, etc, but don't kid yourselves if you think you are going to be able to protect yourselves from the government.
And, if sport, hunting, or personal safety are the only reasons to keep firearms, then there is no reason to have extended clips. If you can't bring down a deer in 2 or 3 shots, then you suck as a hunter and should learn how to actually use that rifle. If you have a handgun and are defending your family, you don't need a clip with 20 or 30 rounds in it. If you do, again, you are a lousy shot and need to spend some more time at the range. Learn how to actually shoot.
