I *think* it's a pretty isolated opinion ragarding the low level players. For the most part I have seen some pretty damn nice people who are upper level. And then there are some who believe that lowbies are beneath notice.
It's best to farm the HQ pelts as much as possible to get something nice for yourself, rather than rely on hand-me-downs (Although a really awesome person from Transcendence did give me a crested helm one day) So farm farm farm away
