Mater and Jeet are supposed to be level 50 and 40, respectively. They were changed at some point to both be level 70, but I think this post-dates the scope of the Kunark/Velious time frame.

Additionally, when doing the rogue epic, only the target that is getting pick-pocketed (either Founy in Kaladim or Tani in Neriak) should be the ones that aggro. The quest write-ups from ~2003 say as much. On a pick-pocket critical fail (read: aggro), it should be possible to make it to the zone line without getting blasted to death.

Pickpocket a Stained Parchment Bottom from Tani. There is no minimum skill required, although higher skill might speed up the process and reduce the number of times you get caught, in which case Tani attacks. If that happens, you can run to the zone out. No other NPC's will assist Tani.
