So a while ago, Svenn filled me in on DS's spawn time because he wasn't going to be able to make it there that night. I went in there, but Divinity beat me and I wasn't too confident in myself anyways, so I watched them kill her. The next day, Svenn and I were online a good hour+ before her spawn and got to stake a claim in front of Divinity. We duod her np, but I got to see how things worked and how resistant she was and formulate my solo strategy for pulling and killing her. Svenn also taught me that you CAN find level 50 mobs in east to pet instead of 51s, and one just so happened to be up outside of DS's room the night we duod her.
It's a few days later now, I missed dates with Svenn cause I forgot once and I had company once and I can't remember why else. Today I kept checking /who for him while I worked on the east nook and yelled in NFP /ooc after someone ninja'd my mule's WC hat (haha... oh well... this is why I have extras!) and such, I never saw him. Eventually I decided I would go check for myself to see if DS was up or what.
She was up! Whoa! I was suddenly SO excited at the prospect of my first solo kill of DS (and the one in a million shot at a NoS right?
[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.])! A bottomless devourer was up outside her room, and I assumed this was the same one that I had used with Svenn a few days ago, so I was even MORE excited knowing that I had a level 50 pet to use on her. I made sure I was fully and freshly buffed, got my pet hasted up then medded up with him sitting there rooted. I hit him with a dazzle, invised myself, then went up to DS's door and opened it with hands practically shaking (yeah, I get this excited about 13-year-old elf emu whatever, and I like it!)... and she was about to path to the door. I waited a few more seconds, then she aggrod and actually started chasing me right away instead of casting (I think she might have just finished a buff so her gems were greyed out?). Awesome, haha, I round the corner and am by my mezzed pet-to-be and she hasn't even started a cast.
And then, around the corner comes DS, her pet... and Mortiferous Protector.
Lol.
I didn't even know this guy could spawn in there, cause the map I always look at only showed one named spawn, DS, in there. I should know better though, cause the map is terrible when it comes to trash mobs overall. Oh well.
I INSTANTLY hatted out. Totally had forgotten to take any SSs, too.
Right away as I started crossing WC, heading to nfp to recharge my hat, I asked a cleric buddy if he'd be willing to come duo with me. During my frantic requests for help though, I realized I could probably use the double invis I would get at HS ent when I got back there to single pull the named golem, and THEN single pull DS normally after he was dead. So that's what I went to go do, and it worked flawlessly. My pet was even pathed such, at the moment of pull, that I got to rapture the golem without worrying about my pet and so having to try stuns or AE mez or anything:

I tashed and rooted and transitioned to dazzle without incident, and my pet came around the corner to get mezzed right on top of the golem only moments later:

My pet promptly broke charm before the battle even began, but it was no issue to get him recharmed:

Golem is starting to go down:

You can see me in the next screenshot commenting to my guild that the Golem is ridiculously buff. I was rememming slow already to recast at 50% because the fight was going along so slowly, but it was about at this point that I realized that this was NOT the level 50 pet I had weaponized with Svenn a few days ago, but instead a new, level-51 devourer. I think I backed him off and gave him a torch just after this screenshot:

I realized that this guy would probably flee and I knew there was a necro skele pathing just back towards the entrance from where I was, so I started spamming fetters on him. I got 3 or 4 resists, but stuck one just about the time he started fleeing:

And for my efforts, I was rewarded with a few silver:

I'm not putting this kill on my sheet though, since pulling him single was only possible thanks to double invis that Shun helped me with. But I couldn't resist putting it and the SSs into my story. Err... I just saw on the first post of the thread that getting a double invis is ok. Should I count this kill on my sheet, or no? I guess normally this guy would not be up WITH DS at the same time so I would have been able to single pull him without needing the double invis. Or if he popped in east nook I would have pulled him with just normal invis there too. /shrug
(Edit - oh, just a little thing to add, the mortiferous protector is level 55, not 54, or at least he was 55 here; you can see him hitting for 160 in some of the SSs I think)
Next up, DS!!!
For DS, again, I made sure I had my buffs all up and fresh enough, threw a new haste on my pet before, then invissed up and went and got her. This time she started by casting instead of chasing, unfortunately. Just about the time I got back to my pet with her pet in tow, she stuck ignite blood on me. This didn't drop invis though (I don't think?) and after I gave her a moment to come out of her room, I fettered her pet, then when she rounded the corner I started a raptu... oh shit... I didn't remem rapture after the last fight... it's freaking mez:

FORTUNATELY, it stuck on DS on the first try. I tashed her and her pet and used an AE mez, then chugged a dose of my greater rejuv pot to try to offset the incoming damage from ignite. I can't quite remember now, and I don't have SS for a spell, but I think I kept her mezzed while my pet quickly dispatched her pet, then I loaded up stuns and began chainstunning to hopefully keep her from sticking dots on my pet:

She was surprisingly unresistant, in this fight anyways, for a level 55 who can cast shielding (and resist magic?) on herself. She only resisted maybe 1 stun in 3 after tash (compared to... I don't think I had a single resist when I duod her with Svenn and we had tash + malo):

And whoa. She doesn't have a weapon in her hand. OMFG A NOS!!! It seriously took me until just after this last screenshot to notice this, and if I wasn't nervous enough to get this sweet kill already, now I had a 60k item that I was seriously wanting to wear on the line! At this point I decided I would not hesitate to use my strong clickies if needed in order to secure the kill. However, charm did not break, DS never aggrod me, the rejuv pot did a nice job counteracting ignite, and stuns locked DS down almots completely until I got a couple resist in a row towards the end of the fight.

Edit again - I went back and looked at my log cause I thought something wasn't right in this story + SSs. When DS first rounded the corner on the pull, she did resist a mez. The second mez stuck, but she landed a plague on me before it did. I used 2 doses of a shaman disease cure pot to fix that somewhere before the fight really got rolling. I think. Lol. Hard to remember the precise order of events, especially during the first 30 seconds of the pull+fight. That first SS is after her pet is dead too, it looks like, but whatever. Such a frenzy of activity where one mistake can mean death... so much fun
